If you are playing craps for the first time, you might look at the table layout with all the different bets you can play and be a bit overwhelmed. The great thing about craps is that you can still win just by making one bet. All the other bets can be learned at a later date, and you can try them out on the free craps tables at your preferred online casino before hitting the real money tables.
Playing craps online is much easier than at a casino as it’s just going to be the player against the computer. We won’t go into all the different betting options here, but this will prepare you for the basics, and you just as easily win with this small amount of knowledge on the game.
You will start off by placing a bet on the pass line
If you are playing an online game of craps, you will automatically be the shooter [this is the person who throws the dice]; the initial throw of the dice is known as the come-out roll.
Next, you’ll throw the two dice, and there will be three different outcomes. If you roll a 7 or 11, these are what is known as a natural, and you will win the round. If you roll a 2, 3 or 12, this is known as craps and you lose. The third is known as the point outcome; this is when a 4,5,6,8 or 10 is rolled, and a new stage of the game begins.
In the online game, a small white button will show on the table layout next to the point number.
Now we are in the points phase of the game when you continue to roll the dice; you now need to match your point number before a 7 is rolled. So, for instance, if your point number was a 5, you want to roll that number before a 7 comes up. The only time you want to roll a 7 is in the come-out roll.
It might all seem like another language, but really all you need to do is place your bet on the pass line and hope that luck is on your side. You can explore the more advanced bets later once you get used to the gameplay and betting grid. Have fun and immerse yourself in the game slowly.
